Farmers in Koruvada village, in the Anakapalli district of Andhra Pradesh (a state on India's southeastern coast), are calling on revenue authorities to fix errors they say were introduced into their land records by the "Jagananna resurvey," a state-wide land remeasurement initiative. Eight farmers who have cultivated plots in Survey No. 327/4 for roughly 50 years say their land was incorrectly reclassified as inam land (historically granted tax-free land) despite their holding valid title deeds and cultivation records. The farmers have filed formal complaints and submitted a petition to the local Tahsildar (a district revenue officer), but say the matter remains unresolved.
