Repeated drone strikes targeting oil and power facilities in Libya are intensifying an already severe energy crisis, with fuel supplies under threat and power outages worsening across the country. The attacks are centred on competition for control of Az Zawiya (a strategically located coastal city west of the capital Tripoli), where rival armed groups are vying for dominance. The escalating violence risks further destabilising a country that has remained fragmented between competing factions since the fall of Muammar Gaddafi in 2011.
