Hundreds of Tunisians rallied on Saturday to demand the release of four pro-Palestinian activists jailed on money laundering charges stemming from their role in organising the Global Sumud Flotilla, a humanitarian aid mission that attempted to reach Gaza in 2025. The activists were arrested in March and have since launched a hunger strike, with organisers warning their health is "deteriorating fast." The Tunisian League for Human Rights (LTDH) has called the case politically motivated, describing the detainees as prisoners of conscience, while advocates suggest foreign pressure may have contributed to the arrests.
