Zinedine Zidane has unveiled his first squad as head coach of the French national team (known as Les Bleus), naming five uncapped players and appointing Kylian Mbappé as captain. The new faces include goalkeeper Guillaume Restes, defenders Andy Diouf and Jérémy Jacquet, midfielder Lucas Da Cunha, and striker Estéban Lepaul, while established figures Aurélien Tchouaméni and Marcus Thuram were left out. Zidane, appointed in July to lead France through to the 2030 World Cup, will take charge for the first time when Les Bleus face Turkey in Izmit on 25 September in the UEFA Nations League.
