South Korea's world No. 1 badminton player An Se-young claimed her second BWF (Badminton World Federation) World Championships title on Sunday, defeating Japan's Akane Yamaguchi 21–17, 21–14 in the women's singles final at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi. An, who also holds an Olympic gold from the 2024 Paris Games, went through the entire tournament undefeated across six matches, and remains the only South Korean singles player — male or female — to have won the world title. South Korea enjoyed further success on the day when the women's doubles pair of Baek Hana and Lee So-hee defeated China's Liu Shengshu and Tan Ning 21–15, 21–15, becoming the first South Korean duo to claim that title since 1995.
