Aprilia's Jorge Martín claimed his 20th MotoGP sprint victory at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, Austria, on Saturday after a dramatic recovery from a chaotic opening lap in which he was forced wide by rival Marc Márquez and dropped to eighth place. Martín's path to victory was aided by KTM's Pedro Acosta, who had built a near three-second lead before crashing out with roughly three laps remaining, allowing the Spaniard to complete a stunning charge through the field. The result moves Martín, the 2024 MotoGP champion, back to the top of the standings with 286 points, three ahead of Márquez, ahead of Sunday's full Grand Prix at the same circuit.
