French authorities have taken Mahmoud Khader Abed Adra into custody in connection with a 1982 grenade and gun attack on Jo Goldenberg, a Jewish-owned restaurant in Paris's historic Marais district, that killed six people and wounded 22. Adra, who had been sought for over 40 years, was handed over by Palestinian security forces following France's recognition of Palestinian statehood, with President Emmanuel Macron crediting that diplomatic move with enabling the transfer. Two other suspects are already in French custody, and France's highest court has confirmed a trial will proceed.
