Russia's State Duma (the lower house of parliament) has passed legislation allowing trained bank employees to operate electronic jamming systems and physically shoot down Ukrainian drones threatening their facilities. Under the bill, banks would fund the installation of anti-drone equipment on their own premises and designate staff authorised to intercept or destroy unmanned aerial, underwater, and ground vehicles without waiting for security services to respond. The move reflects Russia's growing struggle to defend its vast territory against increasingly sophisticated long-range Ukrainian drone strikes, and would effectively fold the country's widespread banking network into its national air-defence infrastructure.
