Two Pakistani police constables were killed in separate targeted shootings in Bannu district (a volatile region in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, bordering Afghanistan) on Thursday night and Friday morning. Constable Muhammad Roshan was shot by unidentified gunmen outside his home in Saidgi Baka Khel after returning from duty at a displaced persons camp, while Constable Mishqat Amir was killed on the Bannu-Miranshah Road after leaving a religious gathering. Authorities have classified both deaths as terrorist acts and launched intelligence-based search operations, as Bannu continues to see a surge in militant violence — including a suicide attack just last month that killed 15 police officers.
