Russian security services (FSB) announced Monday the arrest of a German woman, born in 1969, after she was found carrying a homemade explosive device in her backpack in Pyatigorsk (a city in Russia's Caucasus region). The FSB claims the plot, allegedly directed by Ukraine and facilitated through a Central Asian intermediary, targeted a law enforcement facility, with the device — equivalent to 1.5 kg of TNT — intended to be detonated remotely, killing the woman in the process. Neither Berlin nor Kyiv has responded to the allegations, which fit a pattern of Russian accusations linking Ukraine to terrorist attacks, though Moscow has consistently failed to provide supporting evidence for such claims.
