South Korean singer Evan, formerly a member of the K-pop group Enhypen (a South Korean boy band formed through a 2020 reality competition), has spoken publicly for the first time about being diagnosed with malignant lymphoma — a blood cancer affecting white blood cells — when he was around 10 years old. In an interview with Weverse Magazine, he described how a persistent cough and sudden breathlessness during a football game led to the diagnosis, and recalled watching fellow young patients die during his treatment. Evan, who left Enhypen in March 2026 to pursue a solo career, said the experience quietly shaped his music, including the lyrics of his debut single "Death Of Me," which he said were drawn from having "gone right up to the edge of death" himself.
