The government of Zamfara State (a northwestern Nigerian state long challenged by insecurity and limited infrastructure) has signed a memorandum of understanding with XEJet Limited to operate scheduled commercial flights between Gusau International Airport and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja. Under the agreement, XEJet will run bi-weekly flights beginning next month, marking the first regular commercial air service for the recently built Gusau airport. State officials say the route is designed to attract investors and improve the economic accessibility of a region that has historically struggled to draw outside business interest.
