Airbus has reversed plans to cut remote working to one day a week after a wave of strikes across several countries forced the aerospace giant to reconsider. Workers in Spain, France, and the UK had staged repeated stoppages in recent months, with around 40% of Airbus's 14,000 employees in Spain alone participating in industrial action over issues including remote work, pay, and leave. The company will now allow staff to continue working from home an average of two days a week, walking back a high-profile campaign by chief executive Guillaume Faury to increase in-person attendance in order to boost productivity and manage record demand.
