Personal information belonging to all of South Korea's diplomatic personnel is believed to have been compromised following a cyberattack on the online education platform of the Korea National Diplomatic Academy (KNDA), a training institution affiliated with the foreign ministry. An unidentified hacker is thought to have accessed the server between April and May of last year and maintained that access until February, when authorities detected suspicious activity and took the system offline; the exposed data includes names, job titles, email addresses, and encrypted passwords, though sensitive details such as national ID numbers and home addresses are not believed to have been affected. Seoul has described the incident as a national security concern and has not ruled out the involvement of foreign hacking groups, while investigators have yet to attribute the breach to a specific actor.
