The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has revised upward its 2026 economic growth forecast for South Korea to 3.2%, a 0.6 percentage-point increase from its July projection, citing surging exports and strong corporate earnings driven by global demand for AI chips. The Manila-based multilateral lender also lifted its 2027 growth outlook for Asia's fourth-largest economy by 0.3 percentage points to 2.3%, while maintaining its inflation forecasts of 2.7% for 2026 and 2.2% for 2027. The ADB cautioned that geopolitical tensions, volatility in global financial markets, and potential U.S. tariff increases remain risks that could weigh on South Korean exports and investment.
