India's Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS, a powerful Hindu nationalist organisation widely regarded as the ideological parent of the ruling BJP party) has launched a series of visits to the United States, United Kingdom, and Germany to improve its international image and counter allegations of violence against religious minorities. RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale met with policymakers, academics, and think tanks including Chatham House in London and the Hudson Institute in Washington, DC, insisting that claims of Hindu supremacism and minority persecution were misconceptions. The campaign comes as a US-based research group, the India Hate Lab, reports that hate speech incidents targeting minorities in India rose 13 percent in 2025, with attacks on Christians alone surging 41 percent — trends that human rights researchers say directly contradict the RSS's denials.
