The Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON), the industry body for the country's domestic carriers, has warned that all its members will halt flights if unions again disrupt any member airline. It was responding to an 11 August union picket of Air Peace at Lagos and Abuja airports over unpaid ticket sales charges and workers' right to unionise, which the AON says disrupted more than 70 Air Peace flights and cost the airline over N2 billion. The threat raises the prospect of wider travel chaos in Africa's most populous nation, where aviation already faces heavy delays, high fuel costs and infrastructure constraints.
