India's Zee Entertainment has signed a deal with FIFA to broadcast 39 football tournaments in India through 2034, including the 2026 and 2030 men's World Cups and the 2027 Women's World Cup. The agreement, announced just ten days before the 2026 tournament kicks off across the United States, Canada, and Mexico on June 11, ends a prolonged standoff over rights in one of the last major unsold markets, with FIFA reportedly reducing its asking price from around $100 million to $60 million. The deal faces a challenging commercial environment in India, where cricket dominates sports viewership and a 10–12 hour time difference with host cities means fewer than 14 of the tournament's 104 matches will begin before midnight for Indian audiences.
