Dutch handball player Estavana Polman, 33, has announced she will retire at the end of the current season, sharing the news on Instagram with the message: "After this season, I say goodbye to that dream." Polman, currently playing for Rapid București (a Romanian top-flight club), spent over 15 years competing at the highest level abroad, winning the 2019 World Championship with the Netherlands — scoring the decisive goal in the final minute and being named tournament MVP — along with five total medals at major international tournaments. She also won three Danish league titles with Esbjerg and earned 207 caps for the Dutch national team before retiring from international duty last winter.
