Netherlands national cycling coach Laurens ten Dam has selected eight riders for the European Cycling Championships, to be held in Ljubljana, Slovenia (the country's capital), from 3 to 7 October. The squad largely mirrors the team set for the World Championships in Montreal later this month, with the notable addition of sprinter Lorena Wiebes, who will ride in a support role for team leader Demi Vollering. The Netherlands has dominated the event in recent years, winning the road race nine times in the past decade, though veterans Anna van der Breggen and Marianne Vos will both be absent from this year's editions.
