Greek anti-terrorist police are investigating a series of coordinated pre-dawn firebomb attacks on the homes of three officials from the ruling New Democracy party in Thessaloniki (Greece's second-largest city), carried out early Wednesday morning. Gas canister bombs were placed outside three separate apartment buildings, with the blast at the home of parliamentary candidate Afroditi Nestora injuring five people — including Nestora and both of her parents, whose mother was hospitalised in intensive care. Government spokesman Pavlos Marinakis condemned the attacks as potentially lethal, while the Citizens Protection Minister called for the swift arrest and prosecution of those responsible.
