Venues in Poland and Switzerland have pulled the plug on scheduled performances by US rapper Kanye West (also known as Ye), citing his history of antisemitic statements. Silesian Stadium in Chorzów, Poland cancelled his 19 June show following a push by the country's culture ministry, which said West's "promotion of Nazism" was incompatible with Polish values — particularly in a nation shaped by the Holocaust. FC Basel, the Swiss football club that manages St Jakob-Park stadium in Basel, similarly declined to host him, stating it could not "provide a platform for the artist in question" in accordance with its values. The cancellations follow the blocking of West's planned headline appearance at London's Wireless festival and the postponement of a Marseille show; West has previously declared admiration for Adolf Hitler, sold swastika-branded merchandise, and released a track titled "Heil Hitler." Remaining European dates are scheduled in Turkey, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, and Portugal.
