Australian radio broadcaster Alan Jones (a prominent and long-running conservative commentator on Sydney's 2GB network) is standing trial at Sydney's Downing Centre Local Court on 20 indecent assault charges and two counts of sexual touching involving several men. A second alleged victim, identified only as Complainant C, testified on Monday that Jones kissed him inside a walk-in wardrobe during a visit to James Packer's personal suite at Crown Towers in Melbourne in the early 2010s, and that he pushed Jones away and asked to return to his friend. The complainant told the court he stayed silent for years out of embarrassment and professional pressure, eventually disclosing the alleged assault to journalists and, later, to police after the #MeToo movement prompted a conversation with his father-in-law. Jones has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
