Two members of the Belgian climate action group Code Rood (Red Code) have been released under conditions by a Ghent chamber of indictment, after being held under electronic monitoring following raids linked to industrial sabotage. The activists were arrested as part of a broader investigation into two separate actions: an attack on agribusiness giant Cargill in the port of Ghent, and on steelmaker ArcelorMittal in Charleroi — the latter targeted over alleged arms component supplies to Israel. During both incidents, serious damage was caused, including cut cables, activated emergency stops, and destroyed fencing; 15 suspects in total were detained and questioned following 19 house searches on 10 June, though the court ruled Tuesday that electronic tagging was no longer necessary for the two remaining detainees.
