North Korea has sharply criticised Japan's effort to revise its three core security documents — the National Security Strategy, National Defense Strategy, and Defense Buildup Program — calling the move "a brazen challenge to global peace and humanity." State mouthpiece Rodong Sinmun (the official newspaper of North Korea's ruling Workers' Party) accused Tokyo of pursuing a "sly scheme" to revive its arms industry and expand war capabilities under the guise of responding to regional threats. Japan's security overhaul, which includes a higher defence budget, relaxed arms export rules, and expanded military capacity, is widely seen as a response to China's growing military presence and broader instability in the region.
