Pakistan's Sindh High Court (SHC) has directed the provincial government to restore University Road in Karachi to full functionality within two months, amid public complaints over its deteriorating condition. The court also ordered authorities to complete the long-delayed Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Red Line project — a mass transit scheme linking key urban corridors — by the same deadline, warning that ongoing construction must not disrupt traffic flow along the road. The ruling came as part of a petition challenging the termination of a contractor's agreement, with the court declaring the sealing of the company's machinery by the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) illegal and directing that any disputes over equipment be resolved through a designated arbitration board within 30 days.
