The BBC proceeded with a second series of presenter Ashley Cain's documentary show despite having been informed of an alleged misconduct incident during a separate production in Las Vegas in June 2025, in which filming was suspended after crew members reported Cain appeared to be drunk. A replacement presenter, Tir Dhondy, was flown out to complete the Las Vegas documentary, Sin City: The Real Las Vegas, while statements from crew were collected and shared with the BBC. The episode comes amid broader scrutiny of BBC vetting practices, after the Guardian also revealed Cain's history of misogynistic social media posts and a prior public allegation — which he denied — that he had shared intimate footage of a woman without her consent; two Liberal Democrat MPs have since written to BBC director general Matt Brittin calling the situation "a catastrophic failure" of the corporation's vetting procedures.
