Bahrain has summoned Iraq's chargé d'affaires to deliver a formal protest over ongoing drone strikes on the kingdom, a move that follows similar diplomatic action by Saudi Arabia a day earlier. The attacks, carried out by Iran-aligned armed groups based in Iraq, have persisted even after those factions pledged to suspend operations under a two-week US-Iran ceasefire that took effect last Wednesday. The incidents are straining Iraq's efforts to consolidate ties with its Arab neighbours, with Bahrain calling on Baghdad to address the threat "urgently and responsibly" — a demand already made collectively last month by six Gulf states and Jordan in a joint statement.
