Albanian police, working alongside Austrian authorities and Europol, have dismantled a network of 12 call centre fraud operations across Albania following a two-year investigation. Raids carried out Monday evening and Tuesday morning resulted in the arrest of 10 people on computer fraud charges, the seizure of approximately €892,000 in cash, and the confiscation of hundreds of computers and mobile devices; four additional suspects remain at large. The operation highlights Albania's emergence as a hub for organised call centre crime, where multilingual workers are recruited to defraud victims across Europe through fake investment schemes and high-pressure social-engineering tactics.
