Pakistan's Health Minister Mustafa Kamal announced on Tuesday that the country holds sufficient medicine stocks to meet demand for the next five to six months, despite ongoing international challenges linked to Middle East conflict and disruptions to global sea routes. Kamal, chairing a supply-chain review meeting in Islamabad, said the health ministry and the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) had taken proactive measures in coordination with the pharmaceutical industry to ensure uninterrupted supply. The Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association added that the industry was absorbing rising energy and logistics costs without passing additional burden onto consumers, noting that around 85 percent of medicines used in Pakistan are manufactured domestically.
