Two Indian men were killed in a late-night shooting outside a gurdwara (a Sikh place of worship) in Covo, a town in Italy's Bergamo province, local media reported on Sunday. The attack occurred just before midnight on Friday as the victims were leaving a warehouse used for worship during a Vaisakhi festival gathering, according to Italian newspaper La Sicilia. The killings have drawn attention to the large Sikh diaspora community in the Lombardy region, where such religious gatherings are common around the spring harvest festival of Vaisakhi.
