Baek Hana and Lee So-hee of South Korea claimed the women's doubles title at the BWF World Championships (the Badminton World Federation's premier annual tournament) in New Delhi on Sunday, defeating China's Liu Shengshu and Tan Ning 21-15, 21-15 in a dominant 51-minute final. The victory marks South Korea's first women's doubles world title since Gil Young-ah and Jang Hye-ock won the event in 1995, making Baek and Lee only the second South Korean pair ever to claim the honour. The win adds to South Korea's strong showing at the championships, where world No. 1 An Se-young was also set to contest the women's singles final later the same day.
