The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has named Babar Azam, captain of tournament winners Peshawar Zalmi, as the skipper of the PSL 11 (Pakistan Super League, the country's premier franchise Twenty20 competition) Team of the Year, following a dominant season in which he scored 558 runs across 11 innings — the highest tally of any batter. The team, selected by a five-member commentary panel, also includes Shadab Khan, who was named best all-rounder after taking 17 wickets, and spinner Sufyan Muqeem, who claimed the Best Bowler and Player of the Tournament awards with 22 wickets at an average of 14.40. Peshawar Zalmi claimed the PSL title on Sunday, defeating tournament debutants Hyderabad Kingsmen by five wickets in Lahore — their first championship since 2017.
