South Korea's National Intelligence Service (NIS) told lawmakers on Tuesday that a summit between the United States and North Korea could take place at any time, citing emerging but unconfirmed signs of contact between Washington and Pyongyang. The assessment was delivered during a closed-door briefing to the National Assembly's intelligence committee, with the NIS cautioning that no concrete evidence of direct dialogue had been confirmed. The agency also assessed that Kim Jong-un's daughter, Ju-ae, appears to be entering a formal succession process, while separately noting it has obtained and is analysing internal documents from North Korea's ruling Workers' Party and missile blueprints.
