A four-hour play drawn from court testimony in the trial of the men who drugged and raped Gisèle Pelicot will be staged for a single night at London County Hall this November, presented by the Young Vic theatre. Created by Swiss director Milo Rau and Servane Dècle, "The Pelicot Trial: Tribute to Gisèle Pelicot" has toured at least 15 countries, and organisers say a cast of about 27 well-known actors will be announced before tickets go on sale. It matters because Pelicot, who waived her anonymity so her case would be heard publicly, has become a global symbol in the debate over sexual violence; her ex-husband Dominique Pelicot was jailed for 20 years in December 2024 and all 51 men accused alongside him were convicted (the trial took place in Avignon, in southern France).
