A helicopter carrying a pilot and four healthcare workers crashed near the Long Lellang STOLport (a short take-off and landing airstrip in the remote Marudi district of Sarawak, Malaysian Borneo) on Tuesday, killing all five on board. The aircraft, operated as part of Malaysia's Flying Doctor Service — which delivers medical care to rural and isolated communities — went down near the end of the airstrip at around 3:40 p.m. local time. Malaysia's Air Accident Investigation Bureau is deploying a team to lead the inquiry, while authorities conduct DNA identification of the victims at Miri Hospital; one of those killed has been named as medical officer Ainul Baroah Kamaruddin from the state of Kelantan.
