Under the plan, co-hosts Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay would serve as venues throughout the entire group stage, securing a central role for the continent that holds the tournament's centenary edition. The proposal also reportedly includes a request for 18 matches to be played across the South American host nations, reflecting the region's ambitions to maximise its share of one of sport's most lucrative events.
