Brazil has ended operations of the field hospital it deployed to La Guaira, Venezuela, following two powerful earthquakes — measuring magnitudes 7.2 and 7.5 and striking within a minute of each other — that struck the country in late June. Over the course of the mission, which ran from 29 June, Brazilian medical teams carried out 2,695 consultations, including 15 surgeries and treatment in orthopaedics, paediatrics, and mental health. As operations wound down, Brazil also delivered nearly 700,000 vaccine doses, 900 food baskets, and medical and hygiene supplies to the earthquake-affected region.
