Slovenian cycling star Tadej Pogacar has confirmed he will start La Vuelta a España (the three-week Spanish stage race) on 22 August, when the race opens with a prologue in Monaco. The 27-year-old, who last week claimed a historic fifth Tour de France title and previously won the 2024 Giro d'Italia, has never won the Vuelta — making it one of the few major races to have eluded him. Victory in Spain would make Pogacar the ninth rider in history to win all three Grand Tours, joining an elite list that includes Eddy Merckx, Bernard Hinault, and Alberto Contador.
