Czech police have opened an investigation into Filip Turek, a member of parliament and government commissioner for the Green Deal, on suspicion of causing bodily harm through negligence after his car collided with an ambulance in central Prague last month. The crash, captured on CCTV, left the ambulance driver injured and off work for several days, prompting opposition parties and President Petr Pavel to call for Turek's resignation from his parliamentary and government roles. Turek has temporarily stepped aside from his commissioner position pending the investigation and pledged to waive his parliamentary immunity if charges are filed, though he suggested the injured driver had been "talked into" a longer hospital stay than was medically necessary.
