Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed authorities to provide financial assistance to families who lost relatives or had homes damaged or destroyed in this year's monsoon floods. Chairing an emergency relief meeting, he also ordered the swift restoration of power and roads, the urgent delivery of supplies to cut-off areas, and instructed federal ministers to visit affected regions to accelerate rehabilitation. The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) reported that 164 people have died since late June, with over 615 tonnes of relief goods already dispatched, as forecasters warn of further heavy rains and potential flash flooding across Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir through the weekend.
