Dutch defender Daley Blind, 36, has signed a one-season contract with Ajax (the Amsterdam-based club that is one of the Netherlands' most storied football sides), marking his fourth stint with the club where he began his career in 2008. Blind joins from Spanish side Girona, reuniting him with new Ajax head coach Míchel, who also arrived from Girona this summer. Ajax technical director Jordi Cruijff said Blind brings "experience, calm, and quality" to the squad as the club prepares for its first competitive match on 23 July in the UEFA Conference League qualifying rounds.
