Mohan of the AIADMK and Abdul Rahman of the VCK (Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi), a Dalit-rights-oriented party, ahead of upcoming state polls. The seat's longtime incumbent, T. Velmurugan — who held it across three elections under different party banners — is not standing this time, leaving the field open for a new winner.
