Bob McCaffrey Jr, 54, a man previously convicted of obstructing justice following his wife's 2012 disappearance in Charleston, South Carolina, has been arrested in connection with a decades-old murder in New Jersey. Authorities say DNA evidence linked McCaffrey to the 1990 killing of Lisa Marie McBride, 27, whose decomposed remains were found in the Delaware Water Gap national recreation area — a federally protected wilderness straddling the New Jersey-Pennsylvania border — four months after she vanished from her home. McCaffrey, who had been living in Manteo, North Carolina, was apprehended during a traffic stop on 10 April and now faces charges of first-degree murder, kidnapping and burglary in Sussex County, New Jersey, with prosecutors saying the case highlights how advances in DNA technology can bring justice even after more than three decades.
