The Falkland Islands Government Air Service (FIGAS), the archipelago's sole inter-settlement air service, will operate a reduced flying schedule from 11 May to 13 September 2026, cutting scheduled passenger flights to four days per week — Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday. The change was made to allow engineering teams uninterrupted time to complete mandatory 1,000-hour aircraft maintenance and address corrosion issues discovered during a routine post-summer inspection, while also preserving fleet availability ahead of the 2026/27 peak season. Emergency and essential flights will continue to be supported as needed, and customers with affected bookings will be contacted to rearrange their travel.
