Dutch discus thrower Jorinde van Klinken set a new Dutch national record of 70.99 metres at a competition in Ramona, Oklahoma, surpassing her previous mark of 70.22 set in 2021. Ramona is a small town in Oklahoma known for producing record-breaking throws, thanks to its open field conditions that allow discus athletes to benefit from unobstructed wind. The competition was won by reigning world and Olympic champion Valarie Allman of the United States with a throw of 73.10 metres, while fellow Dutch thrower Alida van Daalen also set a personal best of 69.17 metres.
