A young wolf named Neukgu that escaped from a zoo in Daejeon (a central South Korean city roughly 140 kilometres south of Seoul) has been located and recaptured, five days after breaking out of his enclosure. Neukgu was first spotted late Monday night on a small mountain near the Daejeon O-World theme park, where he had dug his way out the previous Wednesday, triggering a wide search and significant media attention. Authorities confirmed the sighting and moved to recapture the animal, bringing an end to an escape that had unsettled local residents for nearly a week.
