Danish cyclist Jonas Vingegaard (riding for team Visma-Lease a Bike) claimed his fourth stage victory at this year's Giro d'Italia, the prestigious three-week Italian cycling race, attacking the peloton with 6.5 kilometres remaining on the summit finish at Carì to win stage 16 from Bellinzona. Austria's Felix Gall sprinted to second place, more than a minute behind, while Dutch rider Thymen Arensman finished fourth, keeping his chances of a podium finish in the overall standings alive. The victory marks the first time Vingegaard has won four stages in a single Grand Tour, and he has further extended his lead in the general classification.
