A roadside bomb targeting a security convoy killed one official and wounded six others in the Khad Kocha area of Mastung district, Balochistan (a restive southwestern Pakistani province bordering Iran and Afghanistan), on Saturday. The improvised explosive device was detonated along the Quetta-Karachi National Highway as security vehicles passed through, triggering a firefight before attackers fled the scene. The attack follows a separate explosion in the same district just one day earlier, in which four labourers were killed, underscoring the persistent militant threat in the region.
