A bilateral economic cooperation agreement between South Korea and Moldova entered into force on Friday, South Korea's foreign ministry announced, establishing a framework for partnership across sectors including energy, transportation, and science and technology. The deal gives South Korean companies broader access to Moldova (a landlocked Eastern European nation bordering Romania and Ukraine), which is pursuing industrial modernisation and digital transition. The agreement brings the total number of countries with which South Korea holds such pacts to 100, with bilateral trade between the two nations currently standing at $118 million annually.
